The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently issued a workbook to help children's hospitals and general hospitals coor­dinate care for children with flu-like illness during a flu pandemic. Compiled from a discussion of hospital issues at a CDC meeting last September on the pediatric care response to H1N1 flu, the tool identifies steps and resources to help both types of hospitals plan and coordinate their response in areas such as surge capacity, staffing, patient care and triage.
