Health Facilities Management (HFM) magazine will become part of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association, ASHE Executive Director P.J. Andrus announced at the group’s Annual Conference & Technical Exhibition last month in Indianapolis.

ASHE will be combining the magazine and digital newsletters with its existing communications, with the first edition of ASHE’s Health Facilities Management coming out in January. The new publication will remain free to members.

“This transition will allow us to streamline our current communications while continuing to offer timely, relevant and robust content,” Andrus said. “Additionally, this new platform increases our ability to highlight new tools, resources and benefits for ASHE members, as well as expand the number of continuing education units members can earn just by reading the magazine.”

ASHE also will be collaborating with the Association for the Healthcare Environment on environmental services-related content for the magazine as well as an environmental services newsletter.

The change will create a publication covering the latest trends, best practices, research and news for the field. It also will give HFM access to stories, research and data far beyond the resources of the stand-alone magazine.

For advertisers, the publication will provide an opportunity to reach more professionals involved in the health care physical environment.

ASHE represents more than 12,500 professionals involved in the planning, design, construction and management of health care facilities.
