The healing garden outside the Sharon Morse II–Moffitt Cancer Center, The Villages, Fla., a senior living community, offers a calming respite for patients, staff and visitors.

The landscaped outdoor garden space features indigenous plants, a gently flowing manmade stream, winding paths and various seating options.

A covered, tile-roofed walkway connects the cancer center to an adjacent hospital, while ringing the central heart of the garden. Designed to protect patients, families and clinical staff from inclement weather, the walkway’s painted stucco covering continues the campus vernacular of Spanish-influenced architecture and repetitive arches.

The cancer center houses a comprehensive cancer care program that is part of the Sharon Morse Medical Office Building on The Villages Regional Hospital medical center campus.
