While bed bugs have been living alongside mankind, probably since the cave-dwelling era, their resurgence in the last 50 years has them back under microscopes. Researchers have turned their focus back to bed bugs recently to try and understand how these insects are so resilient and resistant to conventional treatment methods.
They first burst back on the scene in hotels and apartments, but now they can be found almost anywhere. And while other pests like flies often thrive in environments that aren’t so spotless, cleanliness has nothing to do with where you may find a bed bug. In fact, they can survive in the cleanest of rooms and buildings – just as long as they have access to a human or animal host. This means that healthcare facilities can be a prime target for these bloodsuckers.
Bed bugs are showing no signs of standing down, and that means you need to be prepared to battle them if they pose any potential issues that could affect your facility. This webinar will provide information about options for detecting, treating and ongoing monitoring for bed bugs to help you be ready for battle.
Attendees Will Take Away:
- An understanding of the challenges bed bugs pose both to the general public and specifically within the healthcare environment
- Need-to-know facts about bed bug biology
- An overview of current and future monitoring and detection techniques, as well as treatment options
