In June of 2011, Health Facilities Management and the American Society for Healthcare Engineering of the American Hospital Association surveyed a random sample of more than 3,600 facility managers and security directors to learn about the policies, technologies and strategies hospitals are employing to address security. The survey response rate was 16.1 percent, or 589 completed surveys.
