Hospital-onset cases of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus decreased 54 percent in the United States between 2005 and 2011, according to a study reported in the Sept. 16 issue of JAMA Internal Medicine. Cases involving health care-associated community onset decreased 28 percent over the period, while community-associated cases decreased only 5 percent.
