The National Institutes of Health outlined its fume hood testing protocol in a recently published newsletter, according to a report in the American Society for Healthcare Engineering's ASHE Insider e-newsletter. The protocol is an enhanced procedure for testing fume hoods that uses American National Standards Institute/American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers Standard 110 as a baseline document. It includes specific definitions, instrumentation requirements and pass/fail criteria.
