The American Hospital Association (AHA) has launched two new websites offering information on how hospital leaders and facility managers can develop effective environmental sustainability programs.

Launched in December, the Sustainability Roadmap for Hospitals site (www.sustainabilityroadmap.org) is geared toward managers who need to understand sustainability issues and how to achieve desired goals. Earlier last year, AHA launched the Executive Primer on Hospital Environmental Sustainability website (www.hospitalsustainability.org) to show how hospital leaders can deliver benefits through sustainable practices.

"Made possible with generous support from Hospira Inc., the Executive Primer on Hospital Environmental Sustainability is an introductory leadership resource on health care sustainability topics," says Michael Bilton, executive director, Association for Community Health Improvement (ACHI). "The Sustainability Roadmap for Hospitals contains operational tools and guidance for managers to design and implement a range of projects."

AHA's American Society for Healthcare Engineering, Association for the Healthcare Environment (formerly American Society for Healthcare Environmental Services) and Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management developed the latest site.
