Early each month, I begin receiving e-mailed comments and questions about articles linked through our monthly Health Facilities Management Online e-mail newsletter. A compendium of articles from our most recent monthly issue posted to our Web site, the newsletter comes out a week or two before the print publication reaches our regular subscribers' desks. As a result of its timeliness, convenience and the readers' ability to provide instant feedback, it has developed a large and energetic audience of its own.

Health Facilities Management Online is one of our more noteworthy but by no means only examples of electronic media success. Others, such as the digital version of our magazine, our designView architectural site and our Twitter feed of regulatory news items each have developed their own audiences. And future plans call for Web seminars, more e-mail newsletters and several other electronic products.

These offerings can be explored on our main Web site at www.hfmmagazine.com, where you'll also find Web Exclusive feature articles and archived special projects such as our Interiors supplements, Executive Dialogue roundtables and expanded benchmark surveys.

While the need for relevant industry information is constant, the methods of receiving it are changing, and we are dedicated to providing our readers with the information they need in the format that suits them best.

Gaining ES recognition: I'd also like to remind you that we're currently accepting entries for the 2010 Environmental Services (ES) Department of the Year competition, sponsored by CINTAS Healthcare Solutions and developed as a joint project of Health Facilities Management and the American Society for Healthcare Environmental Services. The deadline is June 4, so hurry!
