NFPA weekly update: Oct. 5-9

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) manages more than 300 codes and works with more than 250 technical committees in its codes and standards development process. Below is a list of NFPA committee happenings for the week of Oct. 5-9.  

Open for public comment

First drafts for the following codes and standards are open for public comment until Jan. 6, 2027. All drafts are published under the next edition tab for each document. 

• NFPA 12, Standard on Carbon Dioxide Extinguishing Systems, 2028
• NFPA 12A, Standard on Halon 1301 Fire Extinguishing Systems, 2028
• NFPA 418, Standard for Heliports and Vertiports, 2028
• NFPA 2001, Standard on Clean Agent Fire Extinguishing Systems, 2028
