The American Hospital Association (AHA) last month urged the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to streamline its application and eligibility requirements for funding to help rural health care providers develop and use broadband services. Expanded access to broadband in rural areas could support significant improvements in the availability, efficiency and quality of health care, but administrative complexity in previous FCC programs, including the Rural Health Care Pilot Program, discouraged many potential providers from participating, the AHA wrote.
