The Federal Communications Commission is evaluating reallocating the TV channel 37 Wireless Medical Telemetry Service (WMTS) band (608-614 MHz) as part of a larger effort to reallocate portions of the TV bands to new use, the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) warned in an ASHE Advocacy Alert. The group advised members to verify that their WMTS equipment is registered with ASHE per the law and, if not, to do so as soon as possible or risk not receiving compensation if reallocation occurs. If a system is registered with ASHE, no immediate action is necessary, ASHE states.
