The "Basic Infection Control and Prevention Plan for Outpatient Oncology Settings" outlines how existing CDC guidelines for outpatient infection control should be applied in settings where cancer patients receive chemotherapy and ongoing treatment. The agency encourages facilities to customize the plan based on the services they provide. The guide is part of the CDC's Preventing Infections in Cancer Patients initiative.
