HHS and DOL award ARRA grants for health care IT
The Department of Health & Human Services recently awarded $386 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) grants to facilitate health information exchange at the state level, and $375 million for regional extension centers to help physicians and hospitals implement health information technology (IT). In addition, the Department of Labor awarded $225 million in ARRA grants to train 15,000 people for careers in health care, IT and other high-growth fields.
