NFPA weekly update: Nov. 10-14

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) manages more than 300 codes and works with more than 250 technical committees in its codes and standards development process. Below is a list of NFPA committee happenings for the week of Nov. 10-14.

Errata

Erratum No. 70-26-4 has been issued for NFPA 70, National Electrical Code, to include Table 430.22(H) Conductor Short Circuit Factors in the 2026 edition, which was inadvertently omitted from the print copy of the National Electrical Code. The erratum is posted under the current & prior editions tab.

Ballots

The committee for NFPA 241, Standard for Safeguarding Construction, Alteration, and Demolition Operations, has issued its second draft ballot for the 2027 edition. The ballot includes the public comment with responses report, second revisions report and final ballot. The ballot is posted under the next edition tab in the second draft committee information section.

Meeting notices and minutes

NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code. The committee posted a first draft meeting notice for its upcoming Jan.13-14 meetings to discuss the code’s 2028 edition. The notices are posted under the next edition tab in the first draft committee information section.

NFPA 77, Recommended Practice on Static Electricity. The committee posted pre-first draft meeting minutes from its Oct. 30 meeting where it discussed the document’s 2029 edition. The minutes are posted under the next edition tab in the first draft committee information section.

NFPA 90A, Standard for the Installation of Air-Conditioning and Ventilating Systems.The committee posted second draft meeting minutes from its Oct. 1 meeting where it discussed the standard’s 2027 edition. The minutes are posted under the next edition tab in the second draft committee information section.

NFPA 99, Health Care Facilities Code. The committee posted second draft meeting minutes from its Aug. 5-7, Aug. 8, Aug. 11 and Aug. 14 meetings where it discussed the code’s 2027 edition. The minutes are posted under the next edition tab in the second draft committee information section.
