NFPA weekly update: Nov. 24-28

Committees move forward with new editions of fire and life safety commissioning and testing codes

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) manages more than 300 codes and works with more than 250 technical committees in its codes and standards development process. Below is a list of NFPA committee happenings for the week of Nov. 24-28.     

Ballots

NFPA 1, Fire Code. The second draft ballot for the code’s 2027 edition is posted under the next edition tab in the second draft committee information section. It includes the public comment with responses report, second revision report and final ballot.

NFPA 3, Standard for Commissioning of Fire Protection and Life Safety Systems. The second draft ballot for the standard’s 2027 edition is posted under the next edition tab in the second draft committee information section. It includes the second revision report and final ballot.

NFPA 4, Standard for Integrated Fire Protection and Life Safety System Testing. The second draft ballot for the standard’s 2027 edition is posted under the next edition tab in the second draft committee information section. It includes the public comment report, second revision report and final ballot.

NFPA 90A, Standard for the Installation of Air-Conditioning and Ventilating Systems. The final second draft ballot for the standard’s 2027 edition is posted under the next edition tab in the second draft committee information section.

NFPA 90B, Standard for the Installation of Warm Air Heating and Air-Conditioning Systems. The second draft ballot for the standard’s 2027 edition is posted under the next edition tab in the second draft committee information section. It includes the public comment with responses report, second revision report and final ballot.

Meeting agendas and minutes

NFPA 1, Fire Code. The committee posted a second draft meeting agenda for its upcoming Dec. 8 meeting to discuss the code’s 2027 edition. The agenda is posted under the next edition tab in the second draft committee information section.

NFPA 54, National Fuel Gas Code. The committee posted second draft meeting minutes from its Oct. 7-9 meetings where it discussed the code’s 2027 edition. The minutes are posted under the next edition tab in the second draft committee information section.

NFPA 58, Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code. The committee posted first draft meeting minutes from its Oct. 14-17 meetings where it discussed the code’s 2028 edition. The minutes are posted under the next edition tab in the first draft committee information section.

NFPA 90B, Standard for the Installation of Warm Air Heating and Air-Conditioning Systems. The committee posted second draft meeting minutes from its Oct. 1 meeting where it discussed the standard’s 2027 edition.
