NFPA weekly update: Oct 20-24

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) manages more than 300 codes and works with more than 250 technical committees in its codes and standards development process. Below is a list of NFPA committee happenings for the week of Oct. 20-24.    

Errata

A new errata has been issued for NFPA 855, Standard for the Installation of Stationary Energy Storage Systems, to correct a table reference error in the 2026 edition. Errata 855-26-1 was issued Oct. 13 and is posted under the current and prior editions tab in the errata section.

Tentative interim amendments

The committee for the 2026 edition of NFPA 2, Hydrogen Technologies Code, issued its final ballot on TIA No. 1861. The TIA ballot is posted under the next edition tab.

The committee for NFPA 10, Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers, issued its final ballot on tentative interim amendment (TIA) No. 1864. The TIA ballot is posted under the next edition tab.

Meeting notices, agendas and minutes

NFPA 70, National Electrical Code. The committee posted pre-first draft meeting notices for upcoming meetings taking place Jan. 27-28 to discuss the code’s 2029 edition. The notices are posted under the next edition tab in the first draft committee information section.

NFPA 85, Boiler and Combustion Systems. The committee posted first draft meeting minutes from its Aug. 26 meeting where it discussed the code’s 2027 edition. The minutes are posted under the next edition tab in the first draft committee information section.

NFPA 150, Fire and Life Safety in Animal Housing Facilities Code. The committee posted first draft meeting minutes from its Sept. 30 to Oct. 1 meetings where it discussed the code’s 2028 edition. The minutes are posted under the next edition tab in the first draft committee information section.

NFPA 1660, Standard for Emergency Continuity, and Crisis Management: Preparedness, Response, and Recovery. The committee posted a first draft meeting notices for upcoming meetings taking place Jan. 13-15 to discuss the code’s 2028 edition. NFPA 110, Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems. The first draft ballot for the standard’s 2028 edition has been posted under the next edition tab.

NFPA 111, Standard on Stored Electrical Energy Emergency and Standby Power Systems. The first draft ballot for the standard’s 2028 edition has been posted under the next edition tab.
