The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services last month released a final rule that modifies, removes or streamlines more than two dozen regulatory requirements for a broad range of providers, including hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, end-stage renal disease facilities and durable medical equipment suppliers. The regulations touch on a variety of subject areas, including life safety, emergency equipment and infection control, for certain types of facilities.
