ASHE launches committee to help answer member questions

The new MyASHE Response Committee will work in coordination with the ASHE Regulatory Affairs Team to monitor and respond to critical questions in the MyASHE online community
|

The American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE) has established the MyASHE Response Committee (MARC), a new volunteer committee dedicated to supporting members through timely, accurate responses to questions and discussions in the MyASHE online community. The committee will work closely with the ASHE’s Regulatory Affairs Team to help identify emerging issues, clarify complex codes and standards topics and connect members with existing ASHE resources.

MARC will monitor MyASHE discussions for recurring questions and trending topics related to the health care physical environment. Committee members will develop and post approved responses that align with current regulatory requirements and ASHE advocacy positions, helping members navigate issues involving the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Conditions of Participation, the National Fire Protection Association, the International Code Council, FGI and other applicable codes and standards.

In addition to responding to member inquiries, the committee will share ASHE advocacy information within the community and provide insights to ASHE leadership on common areas of confusion, helping to inform future educational programs, Health Facilities Management content and compliance resources.

The inaugural committee includes health care facilities leaders, subject matter experts and industry stakeholders from across the field. Staff support is provided by Jonathan Flannery, MHSA, CHFM, FASHE, FACHE, senior associate director of ASHE Regulatory Affairs, and he can be reached at jflannery@aha.org.

The committee’s first term runs from June 2, 2026, through June 1, 2027.
