Consent Standards move forward

The following 2026 code and standard editions have passed without major changes or challenges and will not be presented for committee action at the 2026 NFPA Technical Meeting.

Ballot

NFPA 45, Standard on Fire Protection for Laboratories Using Chemicals, 2027 edition. The second draft ballot, including the public comment report, second revisions report and final ballot, is posted under the next edition tab in the second draft committee information section.

Standards council decisions

NFPA 54, National Fuel Gas Code, 2027 edition. The committee issued a decision on tentative interim amendment No. 1883. The TIA addressed requirements for gas venting systems. Their decision is posted under the next edition tab in the other committee information section. 

NFPA 101®, Life Safety Code®, 2027 edition. The committee issued a decision on second correlating revision No. 18. The revision addressed the definition of “Qualified Personnel.” Their decision is posted under the next edition tab in the other committee information section. 

Meeting notices and agendas

NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems, 2028 edition. A second draft meeting notice for the committee’s upcoming July 16 meeting is posted under the Next Edition tab in the Second Draft Committee Information section.
