NFPA weekly update: Aug. 11-15

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) manages more than 300 codes and works with more than 250 technical committees in its codes and standards development process. Below is a list of NFPA committee happenings for the week of Aug. 11-15. 

National Electrical Code update

New errata have been added to the 2023 edition of NFPA 70®, National Electrical Code®. Errata 70-23-9 and 551.4 were issued Aug. 12 and are posted under the “current & prior editions” tab in the “errata” section.

Meeting notices, agendas and minutes

The following committees released information on meeting agendas and minutes.

NFPA 1, Fire Code. The committee posted a first draft meeting notice for its upcoming Dec. 8 meeting to discuss the code’s 2027 edition. The notice is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

NFPA 14, Standard for the Installation of Standpipe and Hose Systems. The committee posted its first draft meeting minutes from its May 13-15 and June 12 meetings. The minutes pertain to the standard’s 2027 edition and are posted under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section.

NFPA 30B, Code for the Manufacture and Storage of Aerosol Products. The committee posted its second draft meeting minutes from its July 22-24 meetings. The minutes pertain to the code’s 2027 edition and are posted under the “next edition” tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

NFPA 54, National Fuel Gas Code. The committee posted second draft meeting notices for its upcoming Oct. 7-9 meetings to discuss the code’s 2027 edition. The notices are posted under the “next edition” tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

NFPA 80, Standard for Fire Doors and Other Opening Protectives. The committee posted second draft meeting notices for its upcoming Nov. 10-12 meetings to discuss the standard’s 2028 edition. The notices are posted under the “next edition” tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

NFPA 96, Standard for Ventilation Control and Fire Protection of Commercial Cooking Operations. The committee posted a second draft meeting agenda for its upcoming Sept. 8 meeting where it will discuss the standard’s 2027 edition. The agenda is posted under the “next” edition tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

NFPA 101®, Life Safety Code®. The committee posted its second draft meeting minutes from its July 23, 24 and 28 meetings. The minutes pertain to the code’s 2027 edition and are posted under the “next edition” tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

NFPA 105, Standard for Smoke Door Assemblies and Other Opening Protectives. The committee posted first draft meeting notices for its upcoming Nov. 10-12 meetings to discuss the standard’s 2028 edition. NFPA 1225, Standard for Emergency Services Communications. The committee posted first draft meeting minutes from its Jan. 7-10 meetings, as well as second draft meeting agendas for its upcoming Aug. 18-22 meetings.
