The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) manages more than 300 codes and works with more than 250 technical committees in its codes and standards development process. Below is a list of NFPA committee happenings for the week of July 21-25.

Updates on NFPA 855 and NFPA 25

The committee for NFPA 855, Standard for the Installation of Energy Storage Systems, posted its transcript from the 2025 NFPA Technical Meeting. The transcript records discussion on important code issues and votes regarding the 2026 edition. The transcript is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “NFPA Technical Meeting” section. It also posted final ballots for amendments 855-15 and 855-38. The amendment ballots are posted under the “next edition” tab.

The committee for NFPA 25, Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems, posted the final ballot for amendment 25-3. The ballot is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “other committee information” section.

Meeting notices, agendas and minutes

The following committees released information on meeting notices, agendas and minutes.

NFPA 70B, Standard for Electrical Equipment Maintenance. The committee posted a second draft meeting agenda for upcoming meetings taking place Aug. 5-6. The agenda pertains to the standard’s 2026 edition and is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

NFPA 110, Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems. The committee posted a first draft meeting notice and agenda for its upcoming Aug. 1 meeting to discuss the standard’s 2028 edition. Both are posted under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section.

NFPA 111, Standard on Stored Electrical energy Emergency and Standby Power Systems. The committee posted a first draft meeting notice and agenda for its upcoming Aug. 1 meeting to discuss the standard’s 2028 edition. Both are posted under the “next edition” tab in the “first draft committee information” section.
