NFPA weekly update: Feb. 16-20

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) manages more than 300 codes and works with more than 250 technical committees in its codes and standards development process. Below is a list of NFPA committee happenings for the week of Feb. 16-20.

Notice of intent to make a motion

The 2027 editions of the following codes and standards are open for notices of intent to make a motion (NITMAM) submissions until March 31:

• NFPA 30, Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code
• NFPA 99, Health Care Facilities Code
• NFPA 99B, Standard for Hypobaric Facilities
• NFPA 101®, Life Safety Code®
• NFPA 5000, Building Construction and Safety Code

Public commenting

The 2028 editions of the following codes and standards are open for public comment until June 3:

• NFPA 58, Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code
• NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code
