The Joint Commission is not implementing any new National Patient Safety Goals (NPSGs) for 2011, according to an article in the Sept. 22 issue of Joint Commission Online. However, some elements of performance related to the goals have undergone revisions, The Joint Commission says. These NPSG revisions were effective immediately because they did not involve new requirements. This information also appears in the August issue of Joint Commission Perspectives.
