“As technology rapidly permeates health care and other highly complex industries, facility owners need tangible solutions that envision the future and deliver it,” says Walt Vernon, CEO, Mazzetti, who will continue in the same position.

“The merger of Mazzetti and GBA unites the market leaders in health care engineering and technology consulting. Together, Mazzetti GBA will provide innovative solutions that produce better outcomes and a better future for our clients and our world,” he says.

Suzan Logan, CEO of GBA, and Ted Hood, senior vice president, GBA, will serve as Mazzetti principals and lead its technology division. All staff and office locations of the two companies will remain.

The combined firm will have a staff of 220 in 11 locations: San Francisco, Irvine and Sacramento, Calif.; Denver; Portland, Ore.; two offices in Nashville, Tenn.; Houston and Arlington, Texas; Seattle; and Bengaluru, India.

“The technically complex industries we serve, exemplified by health care, must increasingly reinvent themselves,” Logan says. “Mazzetti GBA will be stronger and more nimble, enabling us to stay at the forefront of technology and IT integration to help our clients seize new opportunities. Together, we will provide a single-source solution to integrate virtually every technology that transforms a facility into an exceptional delivery platform,” she says.

For more than 50 years, Mazzetti has planned, designed and built the infrastructure for technologically advanced facilities. GBA has been a leader in health care technology consulting and information technology (IT) for nearly 30 years.

“Suzan, Ted and I saw the opportunity to bring our complementary firms together, each firm finding the ideal partner to help our clients continue to move into the future,” Vernon says.

Mazzetti utilizes an integrated four-lens approach to engineering and consulting: research and policy, planning, finance and project delivery. The firm’s clients are primarily in health care and mission-critical markets.

As an employee-owned benefit corporation with more than 50 years of service in the industry, Mazzetti’s work spans 20 countries around the globe. Mazzetti plans technologically advanced buildings rooted in local culture, climate and economy.

More than 25 years ago, GBA created the field of health care technology consulting. Working in partnership with health care providers, GBA plans, designs and implements the latest technologies to optimize care delivery, addressing the interoperabilities and integrations of all technologies.

GBA offers a full array of services encompassing medical equipment, IT, security, low-voltage infrastructure and more. With experience in more than 1,800 projects, GBA’s work covers the scope of all project delivery models and all health care technology.
