Broward Health North has selected Heery International to serve as its construction program manager for $70 million in renovations to its medical center. Planned activities will include expansion and renovation to the emergency department and operating suites.
Construction began on two Duke Realty-developed Scott & White Healthcare medical office buildings. One facility includes a three-story, 66,500-square-foot Scott & White Specialty Care Clinic that will be located at the Wayne & Eileen Hurd Regional Medical Center in Marble Falls. Duke Realty also will develop a 120,000-square-foot clinic in College Station that will house numerous medical specialties.
Construction has started on an orthopedic and neurological addition at Holland Hospital. The multiphase health care facility plan, which was designed by Matthei & Colin Associates, will add 24 private beds to the existing facility. The new wing is designed with the capacity to expand vertically with two more floors.
Advocate Christ Medical Center will begin construction early this year on a seven-level patient bed tower. The $300 million project, which will be built in Oak Lawn, will consist of more than 308,000 gross square feet of space. The added beds will increase the campus' overall number of ICU beds by 50, and the number of ob-gyn beds will rise from 39 to 56.
