NFPA weekly update: Sept. 14-18
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) manages more than 300 codes and works with more than 250 technical committees in its codes and standards development process. Below is a list of NFPA committee happenings for the week of Sept. 14-18.
Tentative interim amendment
A new tentative interim amendment (TIA) to the 2024 and 2027 editions of NFPA 5000, Building Construction and Safety Code, was published Aug. 20. TIAs No. 24-1 and 27-1 add requirements for facilities that include weapons detection systems at means of egress. The TIA is posted under the “current and prior editions” tab and is effective as of Sept. 9.
