The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) manages more than 300 codes and works with more than 250 technical committees in its codes and standards development process. Below is a list of NFPA committee happenings for the week of June 1-5.

Tentative interim amendments

NFPA 1, Fire Code. The committee is soliciting public comments on several proposed tentative interim amendments (TIAs) submitted to the code’s 2027 edition. The TIAs are posted under the current and prior editions tab. All comments are due July 8.

NFPA 30B, Code for the Manufacture and Storage of Aerosols. The committee is soliciting public comments on proposed TIA No. 1923 to the code’s 2027 edition, which seeks to add language related to the industrial spray adhesives and expanding foam products. Public comments are due July 8, and the TIA is posted under the current and prior editions tab.

Ballots and reports

NFPA 70®, National Electrical Code®. The committee posted its final ballot on TIA No. 1892 regarding ground-fault circuit-interrupter protection for personnel. The ballot is posted under the next edition tab in the other committee information section.

NFPA 1660, Standard for Emergency, Continuity, and Crisis Management: Preparedness, Response, and Recovery. The first draft report for the standard’s 2028 edition is open for public comment. The report includes the public input with responses report, committee input report and first revisions report. Public comments are due July 27.
