NFPA weekly update: June 8-12

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) manages more than 300 codes and works with more than 250 technical committees in its codes and standards development process. Below is a list of NFPA committee happenings for the week of June 8-12.

Tentative interim amendments

NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code, 2028. The committee posted the final ballot for tentative interim amendment No. 1898. The amendment revises standards for control units and accessories for fire alarm systems. The ballot results are posted under the “next edition” tab in the “other committee information” section.

Ballots

NFPA 85, Boiler and Combustion System Code, 2027. The committee posted the second draft ballot for the 2027 edition, which received no revisions. The ballot is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

NFPA 115, Standard for Laser Fire Protection, 2027. The committee posted the second draft ballot, including the second revisions report, public comment report and final ballot. The ballot is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

Meeting notices and minutes

NFPA 37, Standard for the Installation and Use of Stationary Combustion Engines and Gas Turbines, 2027. The committee posted second draft meeting minutes from its May 20 meeting. The minutes are posted under the “next edition” tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

NFPA 85, Boiler and Combustion System Code, 2027. The committee posted a second draft meeting notice for its upcoming July 21 meeting. The notice is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

NFPA 115, Standard for Laser Fire Protection, 2027. The committee posted second draft meeting minutes from its April 8 meeting. The notice is posted under the “next edition” tab in the “second draft committee information” section.

NFPA 400, Hazardous Materials Code, 2028. The committee posted its pre-second draft meeting minutes from its May 14 meeting, as well as a second draft meeting notice for its upcoming Sept. 29-Oct. 1 meetings.
