NFPA weekly update: March 2-6

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) manages more than 300 codes and works with more than 250 technical committees in its codes and standards development process. Below is a list of NFPA committee happenings for the week of March 2-6. 

Ballots

Final ballots and reports for the following codes and standards have been released:

NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems. The final first draft ballot and correlating notes report for the standard’s 2028 edition is posted under the next edition tab in the first draft committee information section.

NFPA 13R, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems in Low-Rise Residential Occupancies. The final first draft ballot and correlating notes report for the standard’s 2028 edition is posted under the next edition tab in the first draft committee information section.

Meeting notices and agendas

NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems. The committee posted second draft meeting notices for its upcoming  Aug. 11-15 meetings to discuss the standard’s 2028 edition. The notices are posted under the next edition tab in the second draft committee information section.

NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code. The committee posted second draft meeting notices for its upcoming  Aug. 4-7 meetings to discuss the standard’s 2028 edition. The notices are posted under the next edition tab in the second draft committee information section.

NFPA 75, Standard for the Fire Protection of Information Technology Equipment. The committee posted first draft meeting agendas for its upcoming April 7-8 meetings to discuss the standard’s 2028 edition. The agendas are posted under the next edition tab in the first draft committee information section.

Other news

NFPA 1225, Standard for Emergency Services Communication. The second draft report of the standard’s 2027 edition is open for the notice of intent to make a motion (NITMAM) process. The closing date for NITMAM’s is March 31.
