ARIZONA
The first phase of Banner Ironwood Medical Center, Pinal County, Ariz., will open Nov. 1 with an emergency department and 36 inpatient beds. The first phase encompasses 220,000 square feet.
MICHIGAN
Work is under way on the $115 million expansion and renovation at MidMichigan Medical Center–Midland. The 280,000-square-foot project includes new operating rooms, private patient rooms and an atrium-style lobby. It was designed by HDR Architecture of Chicago. The project will open in stages and all construction is scheduled for completion in 2012.
TEXAS
St. David's South Austin (Texas) Hospital announced a $72 million renovation and expansion project with an estimated completion date of April 2012. The expansion will increase the hospital by three floors and more than 100,000 square feet. The hospital has been renamed St. David's South Austin Medical Center. Architectural plans and interior design for the tower will be led by Gould Turner Group Inc., Nashville, Tenn.
