Groundbreaking was held for the new $25 million emergency department and cardiology expansion project at Slidell Memorial Hospital. The first floor will include a 28,600-square-foot emergency room for 31 patients and imaging equipment. The second floor will feature a 28,600-square-foot cardiology department expansion. KLMK Group Inc. will provide project management services.

Texas

Children's Medical Center, Dallas, has started major renovations comprising 208,000 square feet on five floors. The projects, totaling approximately $130 million, will include 48 additional inpatient beds on two floors, a new Lung and Airway Center of Excellence and an expanded Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. The Heart Center will expand by 100,000 square feet.

Indiana

Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes broke ground on the Beacon Project — a $109 million patient tower addition and renovation. The project consists of a new five-story, 200,000-square-foot, 120-bed inpatient tower and the redesign of the existing health care facility. A new central energy plant and sustainable design have positioned the hospital for possible LEED certification.
